RARE ARTISTIC DECANTER MADE BY INTERNATIONAL MASTER BLOWER

Comandon Cognac Coronation is the most prestigious cognac made from individual regions of the Cognac Appellation d’Origne Contrôlée and offered in a unique handmade decanter.

The bottles are exclusively mouth blown by Jorge Mateus, a master glass blower, with more than 35 years experience in artistic glass making. Jorge Mateus has been commissioned by the world elites including royalties, popes, museums and fashion celebrities to create exquisite glass artworks.

Comandon Cognac Coronation has a formal elegance with no pretension which is made to be atemporal but reminiscent of the Edwardian era also known as The Belle Époque, an era rich in history and prosperity.

High-end premium matured cognacs made in limited edition of 10 or 50 bottles in unique number decanters are increasingly popular for collectors and wealthy individuals. Comandon Cognac Coronation is proud to be handmade by individual craftman showing artisanal savoir faire sourced in France.

Comandon Coronation are matured exclusively in wooden casks made from 'Limousin oak'. This type of oak has a dense grain which makes a more intense tannin extraction and infer more complex characteristics to the Comandon Cognac Coronation. The original grapes are for the most part 'ugni blanc' grape varietal as this is the most common and traditional grapes from the region.

Each bottle is made individually by Master Mateus in south of France, using antique hand tools passed down from one generation of glass blower to another. It takes more than 4 hours and about 10 people to craft each bottle.

A handful of bottles are available for sale each year and very few people get to own a bottle of Comandon Cognac Coronation. Each bottle comes with its individual video presenting a short summary of its creation. Hence, this is the first and only cognac available in the world where its proud owner can at the same time enjoy sipping the cognac with delight and moderation while watching the handcrafting of its bottle.

Tasting Notes

Crafted from a small batch of which only the equivalent of 25 bottles in volume were left in a demijohn in an ancient cellar by one generation followed by another, this Cognac Borderies Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée displays a bold nose with complex and intense aromas of light smoke, coffee beans and honey.

Full-bodied and rich on the palate, sweet, warming notes of chocolate and spices are followed by black pepper, toasted bread and candied orange peel, which builds seamlessly into coffee and salted caramel on the long structured finish.

This dark brown and red colored cognac offers delicate floral aromas backed by notes of grape, pear and roasted almond. The round, full-bodied palate displays fresh, fruit-forward flavors, while a touch of warming spice adds depth and sophistication to the long finish.

As it is never chill-filtered, Comandon Coronation retains each characteristic it had in the cask once bottled, with a cask strength of over 43% Alc./Vol..
